Hello hello friends, if you’re reading this, I’m not studying and that’s a shame! Buuuuuuut, I got a lot of books in the mail today and then I noticed how much more I’ve added to my bookshelf since the last time I made a list, and the combination of excitement about my books and excitement to share the love of my books led to this (very short) post! So without further ado, here’s an update on my bookshelf!
Books that I got when I went to The Last Bookstore for the first time (a place I’ve always wanted to go) and figured I needed some books as souvenirs of my trip (rated in ‘most excited to read’ to ‘I bought this because it was on sale’):
- White Teeth by Zadie Smith
- One More Thing and Other Short Stories by B.J. Novak
- Im Glad About You by Theresa Rebeck
- Free Speech in an Open Society by Rodney A. Smolla
Books that I got through this book review website where they will send you a free books to read and if you want to get another one, they ‘encourage’ you to leave a ‘nice‘ review in return (which I found a little sketchy because then you’d just end up writing fake reviews for the books you didn’t like and basically, I didn’t get another one and just kept this for free #finesse):
- Boss Bitch by Nicole Lapin
Books that I got in a raffle during my LSAT class (I was so shocked because I never win anything!) but the book has actually done me more harm than good because it stresses me out over small things too much, so really, that was all more a curse than a blessing:
- The Law School Admission Game: Play Like An Expert by Ann K. Levine
Books that I got after Amazon lost my $45 dollar gift card somehow and I finessed them to get $60 of promotional credits, so the total I had to pay out of pocket for all of this came out to exactly $5 (rated in order of ‘IM SO EXCITED TO READ THIS’ to ‘THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!’):
- Trust No Aunty by Maria Qamar
- Home Fire: A Novel by Kamila Shamsie
- The Nix by Nathan Hill
Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance by Angela Duckworth
- Girl in Translation by Jean Kwok
- Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris
And that’s everything! Let me know if you’ve read any great books lately that I should add to my collection or your thoughts on any of these if you’ve read them (because I haven’t yet…. I just keep buying more… and not… having time… to read them….).
Anyway, as always, thank you so much for stopping by!
